The Developer Experience team sits squarely at the intersection of software engineering and product design as we build the Twilio Platform! A phenomenal developer experience will minimize the “time to magic” as developers learn about Twilio for the first time. And that same experience also empowers teams at the largest companies in the world to confidently deploy extensive web-scale applications.

You’re excited about the possibilities of Serverless computing, and by the idea of making it easier for developers to build and deploy their ideas on Twilio. Our current products include everything from the large-scale distributed backend that makes up Twilio Runtime to the complex drag-and-drop visual interface of Twilio Studio. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part of defining Twilio's product strategy for Serverless computing.

Who?

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager with a passion for building world class developer experiences. One with a need to understand and build empathy with Twilio’s extensive base of developers, customers and diverse personas as they build, debug and operate their Twilio applications. You are driven by building phenomenal products that make other people successful and have a love for computer programming.

Twilio is looking for an ideal candidate with the following:

  • A passion for empowering developers to build better and faster than they think possible. 
  • Ability to craft a long range vision that will meet the needs of customers in the years to come.
  • Proven experience motivating a team to rally behind a long range vision.
  • Experience working across all phases of the SDLC and understanding both the excitement and challenges that developers face at each phase.
  • Track record of finding and engaging with customers to understand their needs and priorities. Also turning customers into champions.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally and leading through influence, not necessarily through authority.
  • Excellent written communication skills for a variety of audiences (both internal and external) with a wide range of skill levels and technical backgrounds.
  • Experience executing in a fast moving environment with a heavy dose of ambiguity.
  • A belief in the power of platforms. You are motivated by making other people successful.
  • Experience working on, using and knowledge of a variety of developer tools is a plus.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience leading and executing against complex developer challenges. 

What?

  • Be responsible for defining and executing on Twilio’s Serverless vision and products.
  • Perform primary and secondary user research to understand how to prioritize work and balance growth and revenue.
  • Understand the requirements of our various product teams and _their_ customers, ensuring our Serverless platform supports their needs.
  • Work closely with a team of engineers, designers and data analysts to deliver world class Serverless experiences.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of the software development industry and the evolving needs of our increasingly diverse customer base, feed these requirements back into the platform and product teams to guide our roadmaps.
