Twilio is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Intranet Manager to own day-to-day management and planning for Switchboard, Twilio’s new employee intranet. This person will have a passion for working across teams, stakeholder management, and project managing an editorial calendar full of amazing content employees love. The intranet manager role reports into the director of internal communications and sits on the Corporate Communications team. This can be a 100% remote role with the opportunity to work out of any Twilio office in the U.S. (after reopening due to COVID-19) 


The ideal candidate will be someone who:

  • Has 4-5 years experience managing employee Intranets, especially with stakeholder management; editorial calendars and managing writers; and back-end content management. This experience is a must. 
  • Understands the big picture and can align a company intranet to the org’s mission, priorities, and culture. 
  • Has experience managing intranet vendors; knowledge of Unily a huge plus
  • Has strong project management skills. is organized, keeps everyone on schedule, and can plan well in advance to keep the intranet fresh and adapt it to a fast-scaling, global company 
  • Loves to collaborate with a diverse, cross-functional team and work toward common goals. Always a fantastic ambassador for the internal communications team. 
  • Has very strong written and communication skills 
  • Enjoys working in a technical, fast-paced, hyper-growth environment and an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines


  • Project manage intranet editorial calendar: Plan and manage a continuous drumbeat of content that ranges from the necessary and strategic to fun and culture-building.
  • Train and coach content creators and site administrators: Work with contributors (i.e. department representatives, our HR partners, IT, etc) across the organization to help them build their presence on Switchboard and ensure their content is up to date and aligned with the overall intranet strategy.
  • Maintain the intranet’s visual design and own all aspects of the homepage
  • Hold the keys to the intranet’s core administration on the Unily platform
  • Monitor and act on analytics: Use embedded analytics to understand what content is working, what needs to be evolved, and what is in demand but does not exist.
  • Actively seek feedback from both users and key stakeholders: You’ll run focus groups and surveys with users and work closely with key stakeholders (especially leadership, HR, IT) to ensure their voices are represented.
  • Manage a team of contractors: 2-3 writers, one designer, and one backend content manager.
  • Allocate and manage budgets related to the intranet
  • Champion the intranet cause and keep it focused: As the intranet manager, you are the intranet’s primary ambassador and will continuously focus the organization on the intranet’s purpose: to connect and align the business!
  • Eventually chair an intranet governance committee: You will establish and coordinate activities across the intranet governance committee, a cross-functional group across HR, IT, and other departments to review how the intranet is meeting objectives and how it should evolve. 


  • Be an Owner - Proactively identify and solve challenges with the intranet.
  • Draw the Owl-Define and build key processes and procedures for the intranet.
  • Empower Others- Ability to work across teams in partnership in order to build and maintain stakeholder content.
  • Ruthlessly Prioritize- Manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Be Bold- Conceptualize bold, innovative content to engage and inform Twilio employees.
  • Be Inclusive- Provide leadership to our team of writers, designers and content managers. Encourage diverse perspectives, and seek out unique points of view.

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Twilio's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Colorado.

Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well. 


Denver/Boulder Metro:

Base salary range: $74,944 - $93, 680

Rest of Colorado:

Base salary range: $65, 576- $81, 970

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
