We are looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer who is excited at the opportunity to join a world-class engineering team based in Bogota-Colombia to solve some of the hardest engineering problems at Twilio. This team, Interconnect Platform, is tasked with scaling the management and provisioning of Twilio's interconnections with customers and carriers around the globe by building and maintaining APIs, instrumentation, and automation tools.

Who?

Twilio is looking for a senior engineer who lives the Twilio Magic and has:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and scaling complex distributed systems based on Java technologies.
  • 1+ years of hand-on experience building great UIs and expertise in at least one web stack and framework (React is a plus).
  • Extensive experience scaling production backend systems
  • Competence in designing and developing horizontally-scalable, resilient, and performing-under-load systems
  • Experience in building automation and instrumentation tools to configure, monitor, and run the network and network devices
  • Passion about establishing software development best practices and cultivate those by proactively mentoring your teammates
  • Understanding of data integrity and secure data management principles
  • Competence in agile processes, continuous integration, and test automation
  • Experience operating production services in the DevOps model
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as AWS
  • Interest in or experience with communications, multi-user, and telephony systems as a plus
