We are looking for a (Senior) Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow a scrum team that is building the next generation client side SDK that powers the Flex UI, developer programmability and enables millions of conversations between users across the globe, on endpoints spanning browsers and mobile platforms.

  • Track record of leading teams in software companies.

  • Exposure to modern web technologies and engineering client or server side systems.
  • Familiarity with agile processes, continuous integration and test automation.
  • Ability to work with customer requirements and experience collaborating with Engineering, Sales or Support teams across the organization.
  • As a pragmatist, you are able to distill complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans for your team.
  • Strong communication skills and desire to make an impact and thrive in small, collaborative, energetic teams.

As an Engineering Manager, you will:

  • BE INCLUSIVE: Lead and grow a team of passionate engineers in our Tallinn office. Provide support and guidance that enables the team to self-organize and to achieve sustained high velocity and predictability.
  • BE AN OWNER & WRITE IT DOWN: Collaborate on roadmaps with Product Managers, Architects and Tech Leads to ensure the team has clear direction and priorities. Break down roadblocks as well as manage communications with stakeholders and dependent teams. Create a culture of continuous improvement through retrospection.
  • WEAR THE CUSTOMER’S SHOES & DON’T SETTLE: Institute development best practices to ensure the team produces high quality, well architected and supportable code. Employ Agile methodologies to continuously deliver value to customers. Customer Trust is your number one priority. 
  • EMPOWER OTHERS & NO SHENANIGANS: Help employees grow through career development, coaching and mentoring. You'll help provide a clear path for progression through personal development plans, defining goals, perform evaluations, and collaborate with employees on their objectives.
  • BE BOLD & DRAW THE OWL: As a member of the Engineering Management team, foster leadership principles and behaviors throughout the organization to groom the next generation of leaders. Act as an ambassador for Twilio, recruiting and motivating top talent.

Where?

This position will be located in our beautiful and well-designed office at Veerenni 38 in Tallinn, though considering the world’s current circumstances will start as remote.
