Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help executing our SMS strategy. This role will be part of the team defining the requirements, implementing and operating core software that is responsible for delivering every SMS going through the Twilio platform. Reporting to the engineering manager in the SMS Engineering team this position is critical in supporting the Twilio’s growth efforts.
Twilio is looking for an software engineer with a demonstrated track record of software delivery.
- 5 years of experience in software engineering;
- Excellent knowledge of JVM or .NET based languages;
- Experience with SQL (preferably MySQL or MSSQL, Oracle, Postgres)
- Understanding of cloud services and running software in cloud;
- Experience in writing and consuming backend services;
- Higher education (BSc+ or similar) in software or electrical engineering.
As Senior Software Engineer, you will:
- Gather requirements and design services;
- Implement them according to requirements in Java;
- Build test suites to validate them in different environments;
- Deploy and maintain them in our AWS infrastructure;
- Be needed to travel 1-2 times a year to our other offices.
The SMS Engineering team is central to one of the major products Twilio is offering. We are responsible for delivering customer messages reliably to 120 countries, working together with other engineering and product teams powering the future of communications. Twilio’s SMS is used globally by variety of use-cases from customer notifications to critical communications saving lives in countries without better infrastructure.
