Because you belong at Twilio
The Who, What, Where and Why
You are a developer. You know how magical code can be when it works and how frustrating it feels when it doesn't. You enjoy sharing that knowledge with others and you do so with patience and empathy.
You are a storyteller and enjoy helping developers write their own stories about the code they've written. You enjoy crafting a narrative with a beginning, middle, and end in the blog posts, emails and documentation that you write. And you enjoy making the code the star of the story so developers can learn how to build what you've built.
You care deeply about developers. Your interactions online are grounded in empathy, and you generally prefer to praise in public and criticize in private.
You will review and refactor code and content created by contributors from our community as well as write your own code and technical tutorials that serve as examples for Voices authors.
Your work will involve publishing blog posts and videos that help developers learn how to become better technical writers and identifying trends which shape our content strategy. You'll write and deploy software to give our small team more leverage, and to make sure that developers reading our blog have the best possible experience.
We'll measure the results of our work by the number "ah-ha, it worked!" moments that developers have when reading the content we've helped others to write.
Twilio's mission is to fuel the future of communications.
The Developer Network is the team at Twilio whose mission is to catalyze the network of developers who will build the future of communications. The DevNet is comprised of four teams that work closely with one another: the Developer Evangelists, the Developer Educators, the Community Developers and the Developer Voices team. Together, these four teams introduce developers to Twilio and then strengthen the relationships between us.
Twilio is a company committed to your growth, your learning, your development and your entire employee experience. We only win when our employees succeed and we're dedicated to helping you develop your strengths. We have a cultural foundation built on diversity, inclusion and innovation and we want you and your ideas to thrive at Twilio.
This is a remote position, based in a major metro area within the US. While working remote, you will still enjoy our incredible perks: a free Kindle when you build your Twilio app, monthly Kindle book reimbursement, monthly gym reimbursement, unlimited PTO, bi-weekly All Hands and more. What you will also get to experience is a company that believes in small teams for maximum impact; that strives to balance work and home life, that understands that this is a marathon, not a sprint; that continuously and purposefully builds an inclusive culture where everyone is able to do and be the best version of themselves. We seek people who naturally demonstrate our values, who are challenged by problems, empower others to thrive, people who can draw the owl and not be beholden to one playbook.
