Job Overview

We are in need of an experienced Electronics engineer to support our development of the Autonomous Freight Network vehicles. You will be a part of cross-functional project team. The product development Engineer is responsible for the development of electronics modules for use on automotive class 8 vehicles.  This role should be filled by an engineer with good bilingual ability in both English and Mandarin Chinese.  

Opportunity, Responsibilities, & Mission

  • Provide the US TuSimple team with the knowledge of systems that use high speed digital signals and high speed design expertise along with circuit simulations tools.
  • Provide electronics expertise and oversight of transfer of Time Synchronization Unit (TSU) from TuSimple Beijing Engineering to the TuSimple US Engineering team.
  • Evaluate the design and testing completed of the TSU design and testing for the MVP platform.
  • Conduct Design reviews support scheduled product prototype and validation testing.
  • Develope the next generation TSU for the TuSimple ADS.
  • Review schematics and the printed circuit board layout for use of high speed circuit best practices.
  • Support the development and reviews of engineering documents such as FMEAs, DVP&Rs, Root Cause Analysis etc.
  • Design and validation to automotive electronics design and test standards.
  • Support Product launch on automotive vehicle applications
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English and Mandarin

Experience & Skills - Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Master's degree in EE is highly desired.
  • 5 years of experience in R&D projects in a role of design engineer responsible for
  • 5 years of experience in new product development of electronics controls modules directly working with microcontrollers, embedded systems designs, high speed digital and time synchronous protocols.
  • Successful launch of electronics products to the automotive an/or military environment and test standards.
  • Hands on experience in lab for module/board bring up.
  • Familiar with lab equipment such as high speed oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to work with firmware and software engineers on module operational requirements.
  • Experience in Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), Autonomous Driving (AD), and Functional safety-critical Embedded Systems is highly desired.
  • Familiarity of ISO-26262
  • Knowledge of 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) master, 1588 PTP Network Transport UDP or IEEE802.3, High accuracy time synchronization (onboard GPS receiver) Pulse Per Second
  • Experience in SoC FPGA (Zynq), Multicore microprocessors (TC397) and Interface protocol GMSL2 and T1 ethernet
  • Successful electronics product launch experience on automotive and/or aerospace applications
