Job Description

In this role, you will own the platforms that enable efficient iteration and deployment of deep learning and perception models that power TuSimple L4 autonomous driving trucks. You will also be responsible for building strong engineering practice and culture for the perception team.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage a team of perception software engineers.
  • Build platforms, pipelines, and internal tools for deep learning and perception model training, benchmarking, iteration, and deployment for autonomous trucks.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance engineering practice in the perception team.

What You'll Bring:

  • M.S./Ph.D. degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering.
  • 3+ years of practical experience in applying deep learning/machine learning algorithms on large scale and real world data.
  • 3+ years experience developing platforms related to deep learning/machine learning model training, benchmarking, visualization, deployment, and continuous integration.
  • Experience with full stack development.
  • 3+ years experience managing software engineers.
  • Familiar with Linux and deep learning training frameworks such as MXNET (preferred)/PyTorch/TensorFlow.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++.

Preferred:

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering.
  • Industry experience in autonomous driving and/or robotics.
  • Experience in deep neural network computation optimization, such as distributed training, network quantization, and CUDA programming.
  • Experience in Embedded systems and High performance computing.
