Vehicle Installation Technician

Job Description

The Vehicle Installation Technician will work with the Mechanical Engineering  team to retrofit and customize vehicles in our autonomous driving fleet. They will outfit vehicles ranging from passenger cars to SUVs to tractor trailers. This is an exciting position for candidates with experience working on custom interiors who are interested in moving into the autonomous vehicle industry.



Responsibilities

  • Removing and replacing interior panels
  • Installing mounts and brackets for electronics such as server racks
  • Tear down of non essential interior elements such as seats and bunks
  • Retrofitting vehicles with high tech autonomous technology



Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive hand tools and general power tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure in both standard and metric
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a safe and tidy work environment
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds, work in small spaces and safely climb ladders as needed

 

Nice to have

  • Blueprint reading
  • Automotive electronics installation experience
  • Experience with metal fabrication
