About the team:

This is a new role being offered at Turo within our protection department. We are seeking a high impact individual to be a technical lead in auto estimating. The new position of Auto Estimatics Specialist provides technical expertise and guidance to the protection department and leadership, and ensures file handling meets or exceeds all company guidelines and state requirements. The Auto Estimatics specialist will work closely with the Claims Operations team and will provide analysis, training, and program reviews of our estimating providers, will develop training for the claims team on damage estimating best practices, effective review of estimates, and may assist in audit or review of high value claim estimates. 

What you’ll do:

  • Assess and analyze completed assignments with our vendors to ensure best-in-class service experience
  • You will provide insight on vendors and assist with new partnerships 
  • Review reporting and measurement methods to measure and monitor vendor performance, relaying any performance issues to your direct manager
  • Work with vendors to improve the accuracy of estimating, utilizing the most cost-effective repair techniques
  • Working with vendors, identifying potential estimating-related fraud, and coordinating with Turo claims, TNS, and regulatory authorities to address
  • Review auto damage estimates from photo, field, and total loss vendors for accuracy and compliance with estimating guidelines
  • Review and update estimating guidelines as needed to align with changing market conditions and evolving vehicle technology
  • Communicates performance expectations with estimating vendors, collaborates with other leaders to ensure all team, department, and company goals are met
  • Develop and implement monthly reporting on results by the program to be shared with senior leadership
  • Develop relationships with the appropriate vendors 
  • Provides coaching and guidance to the department regarding appropriate techniques for handling estimates and promoting estimate accuracy and resolution
  • Completes regular file reviews to ensure all requirements have been met
  • Collaborate or lead special projects, change initiatives, or other activities
  • Create or maintain updates and changes to vendor processes, review resources for accurate process workflows 
  • Confirm that required audit process requirements have been met.
  • Must work in multiple systems to assist direct reports with timely file resolution.
  • Must work effectively amid constant interruptions and shifting priorities

Your profile:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in auto collision estimating, including claims terminology and claims handling
  • Auto estimate software experience required (CCC, Mitchell, Audatex)
  • Auto appraiser license or certification required
  • ICAR Certification preferred
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding and knowledge of the repair process/procedures
  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate vendor results, problem-solving, and internal reporting
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Be influential and passionate about leading vendor management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, drive and embrace change
  • Excellent follow-through, attention to detail, and minimal need for supervision
  • Must be a team player, with a positive mental attitude, high energy, high integrity, strong work ethic, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and a commitment to the mission
  • A track record of achieving or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Commitment to high responsiveness and availability

The Phoenix base salary range for this full-time position is $52,000-$62,000k + equity + benefits. Our base pay is determined by role, level, and location.
