Tumblr’s Analytics Engineering team works on tools that parse large volumes of data to better understand how to improve Tumblr. Over 280 million Tumblrs and more than 120 billion posts exist in the world, and they’re all ripe for parsin’.
We are looking for a talented engineer who wants to work on building out tools. Big tools, like our analytics dashboard that visualizes user behavior at the hundreds of thousands events per second. What you’ll be doing:
Building best of breed big data processing architecture that will be used to directly affect how Tumblr prioritizes future initiatives.
Building out complex analytics dashboards for user activity amongst other things.
Contributing to Tumblr’s revenue goals by building real time processing for Ads initiatives.
Building a cohort analysis framework to compute data for a variety of cohorts and metrics important for various product teams at Tumblr.
Enriching and maintaining our A/B testing solution.
What we’re looking for:
Experience with A/B testing.
Previous experience working in statistics, or working knowledge on how to use them.
Experience developing analytics visualization and exploration tools.
Unit and Functional testing experience.
Proficiency with at least one scripting language, preferably Python.
A self-starter who can pick up new technologies at the drop of a hat.
Tools we like:
Bonus points for experience with Kafka, Storm, Flink, Druid, or Spark
