Overview

The successful candidate will work within the Trading Operations team, part of the Technical Operations group and will be responsible for daily support and various project related tasks. 

Trading Operations interacts with most teams within the firm, including Portfolio Managers, Middle Office, Operations, and Development as well as senior management. There are also external facing responsibilities liaising with brokers, ECNs and vendors. This is a technical, hands-on role maintaining, upgrading and supporting systems that handle direct trading flow as well as middle office, pricing and back-office systems across the firm. There is a heavy focus on automation and engineering within the team, continually driving improvement in our support stack. The role covers all asset classes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring of daily systematic trading flow, managing order rejects, triage of production issues and incident management with the relevant trading teams
  • Manage the UAT EMS environment, testing releases/new features
  • Liaise with trading teams to plan UAT and production rollouts of the EMS product
  • Troubleshooting of trading issues anywhere between EMS/FIX and Broker/ECN through to middle and back office booking and position management
  • Support for front, middle and back-office applications for the firm in production and staging environments, escalating to development where required and implementing releases.
  • Respond promptly to support requests/inquiries from internal teams, triaging and managing workload
  • Documentation and process improvement with the aim to automate and streamline procedures where possible
  • Work with development teams to define and implement monitoring and create build and deploy/automation improvements.
  • Ownership of our enterprise scheduling and monitoring applications, liaising with 3rd party vendors for support.
  • Run incident management, troubleshoot and remediate issues with the services you manage and owning follow up actions to drive continual improvement.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of prior experience in an electronic trading support role or similar
  • Strong product knowledge in either Equities, Futures, FX or Fixed Income markets.
  • Strong academic background in mathematics, computer science or similarly related. 
  • Excellent communication, time management, and critical thinking skills
  • Solid understanding of trading system architecture and market data feeds
  • Be a self-starter who can identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix, SQL and Python
  • Working knowledge of FIX protocol
  • CISI accreditation / Capital Markets Programme a plus

 

Salary

Compensation for this position is expected to be $300,000-$350,000, with the actual salary dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s education level and credentials, the salary expectations of applicable applicants, and other market conditions.
