• Manage the US tax compliance process and reporting for the Tudor Group management entities and fund suite.
  • Provide value added tax planning advice on all US tax related aspects of fund and management company structuring and operations.
  • Supervise an internal team of tax professionals as well as an extensive network of external service providers.
  • Secondary review of complex partnership tax returns (Form 1065 and 1120S), Schedule K-1s and tax allocations, prepared both internally and by external accountants
  • Secondary review of realized gain/loss reports, qualified dividend reports and unrealized gain/loss reports.  
  • Secondary review of wash sale, constructive sale, 1256 contracts, Sec. 475(f) hedging analysis, straddles, s163(J) calculations, s861 income analysis and various additional tax items specific to hedge funds.
  • Management of Tudor’s FTCA/CRS and FBAR filings.
  • Secondary review of interim tax estimates as requested by investor.
  • Secondary review of management company & proprietary entity tax work-papers and tax returns.
  • Secondary review of quarterly partners’ tax estimates and distribution calculations.
  • Secondary review of personal property tax returns, excise tax returns and sales and use tax returns for multiple states and cities.
  • Provide advice on all tax related aspects of Tudor aviation assets.
  • Involvement with ad hoc US and international tax projects.
  • Coordinate with Accounting, Investor Relations, Legal, Trader Ops, HR and other departments to ensure proper and accurate tax reporting.
  • Represent Tudor with relevant tax authorities.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting with good academic performance.
  • 10 years minimum financial service experience in public accounting and/or at a hedge fund.
  • Must have extensive expert knowledge of investment fund accounting concepts including capital account maintenance, allocations, withholding tax and treatment of management and incentive fees.  Individual tax expertise is a plus.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required.
  • Ability to meet numerous deadlines and to complete complex projects in a timely and accurately manner.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team of tax professionals.
  • Strong desire to learn and excellent interpersonal skills.
