The Role

We are looking for an experienced, high-performing Senior Payroll Administrator. You will be an integral part of the People team and responsible for the day-to-day management and timely processing of payroll for SME and all subsidiary companies. This role reports to the Head of People and will be based in our Playa Vista office. 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage all aspects of payroll processing for US employees, including exempt and non-exempt
  • Processing and understanding of US Tax Withholding
  • Oversee annual payroll compliance reporting for the US, including the preparation and audit of W2s
  • Monitor and ensure that monthly close deliverables are met
  • Support the annual audit and any internal audit or process review projects
  • Align payroll operations, HR, and other cross-functional stakeholders on all active projects
  • Create and set up new tax locations as needed
  • Lead any new payroll related projects and system improvements/ implementations
  • Understand the needs of a startup company with the ability to improve and implement new procedures for improve workflow

What It Takes to Be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, ideally with Rippling
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including prevailing wages and public work project payroll requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and relationship building skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Office software.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll-related state, legal, tax, and compliance requirements
