In this position, you will be building genomics data analysis solutions to process high-volume patient genomic data enabling clinical multimodal data research. We are seeking genomics software engineers who:
- Have proven experience building reliable, secure and scalable genomics data analysis solutions using modern cloud-based paradigms
- Have experience optimizing accuracy, turn-around-time and computing cost of genomics secondary analysis solutions
- Have hands-on experience working with public/proprietary genomic databases such as ClinVar, gnomAD, HGMD and COSMIC
- Have knowledge and experience in using and designing distributed systems, data pipelines, and APIs Can guide workstreams, mentor and inspire junior developers and cultivate a positive work environment
- Will adhere to Truveta principles in support of ethical innovation
- Willingness to commit to ongoing training on key topics like privacy, ethics, and security
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of bioinformatics/engineering experience in an industry setting; experience working as part of distributed teams is a plus
- Understanding of NGS technology and molecular biology
- Proficiency of NGS data analysis tools and techniques (e.g. aligners, variant callers)
- Familiarity with modern genomics workflow management systems (e.g. Cromwell, Nextflow, Snakemake)
- Experience building cloud services or data programming languages like Java, Python, or C#
- 2+ years of experience working on modern cloud-native platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- M.S. or Ph.D in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or related field
- Prior work with Big Data technologies and statistics is a plus

- The base pay for this position is $148,00 to $227,500. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional compensation such as incentive pay and stock options.
