Job Summary

The Chief Revenue Officer’s (CRO) main responsibility is to provide the strategy and tactical expertise needed to leverage our Commercial and DoD Brands into the next series of opportunities and contracts. This includes mentorship of the Sales and Marketing team, developing strategies, identifying new products and creating roadmaps, global market research and sales efforts. Consistent sales that are long term with follow-up on sales which reduce risk of a sales gap between large programs is essential. The CRO needs to have experience in successfully managing a direct and in-direct sales team and working with that team to generate and follow-up on new and old opportunities and help manage customer expectations when lead time or program schedule is at risk. It is expected that the CRO will communicate the “why revenue” is changing and work collaboratively with Finance, Engineering, and Operations on balancing what we need to do, and what we can do. Additionally working with leadership and management on the best use of our resources at any given time to have consistent sales verses surges in sales with periods of sales gaps.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and execute strategic plans for sales and marketing teams to help us achieve our sales goals.
  • Analyze business tactics, performance data, pricing and sales strategies, market research data, and competitor products.
  • Develop sales strategies based on regional and global market research.
  • Ensure all marketing and sales strategies are in compliance with corporate governance policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the development of marketing collateral.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Lead and manage the sales team to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Prepare regular sales reports to track performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Execute and monitor effective marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and develop strategies to stay ahead.
  • Set and manage the sales team budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Attend and participate in the weekly executive meetings including a written weekly update for the executive team.
  • Work with and manage the Sales, Marketing and Customer Service Departments as well as Outside Sales Rep Organizations and International Distributors.
  • In collaboration with CEO develop a strategic plan to advance the company’s values, objectives and sales revenue growth while maintaining a diversified portfolio of customers.
  • Ensure profitability and measured growth as an organization.
  • Partner with operations to ensure sales achievements, production efficiency, quality, service effectiveness, brand awareness and efficient resource allocation to achieve desired ROI.
  • Responsible for entire Sales Cycle to include collaboration with engineering, supply chain, quality and finance departments.
  • Strategic planning with Sales Rep Organizations and Distributors to improve sales and profitability in those territories.
  • Strategic planning and execution with Senior Management and Management Teams.
  • Work with CTO on product approach and viability.
  • Conceive and execute on new tools or systems which improve processes on the sales side or improve usability for both sales and other company leadership.
  • In times of absence of the CEO and CTO work with the COO, Senior Business Advisor and BOD to make effective and appropriate decisions for the wellbeing of the company and its employees.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to create and manage sales goals and budgets.
  • Develop strategies and tactics for increasing market share within existing accounts and markets.
  • Develop and implement annual business plans and manage the monthly, quarterly and annual expense and revenue budgets.
  • Provide leadership, direction and management to the customer service, marketing and sales teams in a manner that ensures exceptional service to all stakeholders and that produces market differentiation and competitive advantage.
  • Establish clear sales metrics and benchmarks for measuring progress and maintaining focus; creates a companywide marketing reporting function that can rack, measure and analyze performance.
  • Develop a strong team. Coach, mentor and develop existing professionals
  • Participate in the identity verification process to access secure client or government portals by authorizing certified supplier management platforms to obtain information from your personal credit profile or other information, solely to verify your identity

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Customer Service department and the Manager of Customer Service and Sales with goals and outcomes.
  • Manage the VPs of each market segment in Business Development’s goals and outcomes.

Position Requirements

  • Proficient in financial terminology, understanding, and analysis.
  • Measurable success in establishing and executing sales and marketing budget and action plans.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and competitors
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or relevant area required; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of marketing and sales experience with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments.
  • Strong leadership skills, able to lead change, mentor and motivate individuals.
  • Great track record of hiring and growing sales, marketing and customer service teams.
  • Firsthand experience strategizing and negotiating complex sales deals.
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic/conceptual level and at a detailed, operational level.
  • Metrics driven; highly disciplined.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
  • A hands-on, action-oriented approach that fits well with the entrepreneurial, fast-paced culture.
  • Engaging leadership style that builds and sustains credibility with staff, colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing.
  • Preferred Experience: Proven track record of driving revenue growth within the Department of Defense and/or Federal government sectors, including navigating government contracting, compliance, and procurement processes. Will bring expertise in developing strategic partnerships and scaling business opportunities in these arenas to support ongoing growth and expansion efforts

Pay/Salary Information

Salary range for this position is $224,000.00 to $336,000.00 Annual Salary
