- Core Output Statement and Description Overview
- You will be excited by the chance to work in a fast-paced software environment, as well as working with innovative solutions and subject experts around data and analytics, regulatory compliance, and software development.
- Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review contracts for various types of legal documents, including sales/serves/vendor agreements, NDAs, settlement agreements, employee handbook, etc.
- Advise on IRS audit issues relating to the ACA.
- Subject matter expertise on the ACA, HIPAA and ACA’s interplay with ERISA.
- Subject matter expertise on cyber security and consumer privacy rules, including management of data breach response.
- Effective at balancing legal risks against business interests and providing legal counsel and advice to various internal departments on multiple legal matters.
- Negotiating contracts with outside vendors.
- Handle collections matters and other disputes.
- Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assisting with HR duties including new employee offer letters, assisting with benefits administration, and offboarding employees.
- Updating internal HR policies and procedures.
- Working with senior leadership to provide regulatory expertise around new products and content development for the marketing team.
- Skills & Abilities required to perform Duties:
- Experience with IRS/DOL compliance relating to health and welfare benefit plans.
- Knowledge on tax-qualified retirement plans.
- Experience in corporate governance, internal controls and compliance matters, including corporate formation and formalities, human resource investigations and information security.
- Experience in IP due diligence, filing and protection, including analyzing IP protectability and noninfringement issues and drafting various technology-related agreements.
- Seasoned business deal-making and negotiation acumen.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, including formal presentation skills and ability to craft communications appropriate to the intended audience.
- In-house experience.
- Experience in handling internet, software and technology-related issues, including compliance with security and privacy rules.
- Education, Certifications or Training:
- Active member of the State Bar of California.
- Litigation experience a plus.
