Project Description

Our client is working on reshaping how citizens engage with our Public Safety agencies. From Telemedicine for Paramedics in the field, to citizen surveys tied to sentiment analysis to quantify citizen satisfaction and pass back positive feedback to the heroes that protect our communities.

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our driven team and accelerate our product roadmap. This person will join a team of engineers and product owners to develop and grow a quickly evolving platform.


  • Involved in designing and building features for the project's platform and related products.
  • Their technology stack (both the main platform and related stand alone projects) is deployed via Amazon ECS and is primarily MySql, Spring Boot, and React supported by Terraform, Liquibase, JUnit, Jmeter, CircleCI, etc. While the first project will most likely be a standalone related project (with the same tech stack), you will quickly be rolled into working on the main platform.
  • Once on the main platform, the work will range from feature requests to bug fixes to infrastructure and integration improvements.


  • Proven track record of solving problems and getting things done in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
  • A good attitude and ability to have some fun
  • A minimum of 10 years software development experience
  • 5+ years’ experience using Java
  • 5+ years’ experience using Javascript/React
  • Experienced with both relational (MySql) and NoSQL data structures
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, etc) is a bonus
  • Experience with cloud architecture and technologies, in particular Amazon Web Services
  • Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns
  • Ability to define solutions, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility
  • Proficient with modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledgeable with version control systems (Git) and issue tracking tools (JIRA)
  • Experience with CI/CD and related tools (CircleCI, etc.)
