We are seeking a high performing Senior Legal Counsel to join our global legal team. We work very closely with management, product, business and engineering teams as well as other functional teams to support Truecaller’s continued growth, while at the same time ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal control.
What you bring in:
- 4+ years of experience in legal practice
- Law school degree from India with a minimum of four years relevant working experience as an in-house counsel and/or from reputable law firms
- Strong knowledge and skills in commercial contracts with an emphasis on advertisement and IT-related matters
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- Strong skills in analysing and interpreting advanced contractual relationships and monitoring the regulatory environment in which we operate
- A strong sense of personal integrity and good personal judgment
- Background in the advertisement and Enterprise field.
The impact you will create:
You will be handling Truecaller’s legal and compliance matters. Our legal team covers 100+ jurisdictions albeit the main focus for this role will be our business in India.
You will work in close collaboration with many people in different parts of the world with the following main responsibilities
Commercial
- Work closely with the Legal Team and internal stakeholders to provide legal advice and to draft and negotiate commercial contracts and partnerships with a focus on India but in multiple markets
- Develop trusted relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders including Ads and Enterprise business units
- Draft and negotiate software and advertising agreements.
- Create templates and improve processes
Compliance
- Ensure that legal entities are compliant with applicable laws and regulations including filings and liaison with regulators as necessary
- Coordinating with law enforcement authorities to comply with statutory/regulatory requests
Privacy
- Working with the rest of the Legal Team on data privacy matters and monitoring changes to the regulatory environment and implementing necessary actions internally
- Updating policies based on legal requirements and changes in the product.
Product
Review of product functionality and new product features and design to ensure it aligns with legal requirements Responding to and managing any potential legal disputes and litigation.
Miscellaneous
- Responding to and managing any potential legal disputes and litigation
- In addition, there will be a myriad of other legal matters to be handled from time to time which makes working here even more challenging and fun as one day will never be the same as the next.
It would be great if you also have:
Experience with Ads engagements and Programmatic adeco systems
In-depth knowledge of Privacy law knowledge
