We at Ads Product are all about making Ads more meaningful & relevant to our users and help drive marketing objectives for our partners/advertisers. Ads is one of the ways Truecaller monetizes the APP, and thus holds a critical role in driving Truecaller revenues. Truecaller is one of the largest standalone publishers in India and emerging markets like Egypt, North Africa etc.
Mission - The Ads team is responsible for monetizing Truecaller inventory through ads by offering targeted advertising solutions to our demand partners.
Responsible for - Driving revenue growth for Truecaller by building ads solutions and selling our ads offerings to our advertiser partners in India and outside.
We work at a planetary scale, serving billions of ad impressions daily. Our APIs handle a massive load, with some reaching 300K requests per second. This is serious performance engineering!
The Truecaller app is on over 400 million devices globally, and our code needs to run flawlessly on all of them. We leverage the latest tech like Jetpack Compose and Kotlin to ensure efficiency and maintainability.
As an Android Engineer, You'll design and develop the next generation of our high-performance Ads SDK. You'll write robust code that works seamlessly across 150+ device types and configurations. Collaborating with partners on their SDKs while leveraging our own multi-format ad technology. Additionally, You'll work closely with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to turn ideas into reality.
What you bring in:
- 3 to 5 years of Android application development experience.
- An extensive, hands-on experience with modern Android application development tools and libraries incl. application lifecycle, asynchronous server communication, and UI components.
- Familiar in ad tech concepts, platforms, and best practices (e.g., mediation, bidding)
- Sound knowledge of Kotlin, Coroutines and Dependency injection
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- A mind-set to get things done while maintaining high standards by shipping high quality code.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs
The impact you will create:
- Take ownership of the features that you build and ensure a high level of user experience
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Participate in and contribute to the team’s Agile practices
- Utilize modern Android development tools (Jetpack, Kotlin, etc.) to build clean, scalable, and maintainable code which impacts 400 million users
- Ensure the quality and maintainability of the codebase with every commit that you do
- Leverage your knowledge of Ad tech APIs, SDKs, and mediation platforms to optimize ad delivery and monetization.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in ad tech concepts, platforms, and best practices
- Experience of Jetpack Compose
