We are looking to hire someone based in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, Florida, New Jersey, Colorado, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Utah, Washington, Tennessee, or North Carolina for this position.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Product Marketing to help us create and build out our product marketing practice at Tropic. This person will work closely with our product, marketing, and customer-facing teams to help; drive an understanding of the value we’re delivering with new features & functionality, developing the story of how our product and features help customers save time & money, and create awareness, adoption, and to elevate our overall messaging in the market.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and lead the execution of go-to-market strategies for new products and features and ensure alignment among all customer-facing teams, as well as internal stakeholders like Product Management, Design, and Engineering. 
  • Understand our customers within our target segments and buyer personas (including by talking regularly with current and prospective customers), and serve as an advocate for their needs in order to shape our go-to-market strategy.
  • Develop and refine our key value proposition, messaging, and write compelling copy and clear internal docs. This is a writing-intensive role, and the bar for your writing is high. 
  • Work with marketing to drive broad-scale awareness of specific features and benefits. 
  • Build and maintain sales enablement materials like one-pagers, competitive battlecards, and more to ensure perfect understanding of feature and product functionality, benefits, and value propositions among sales & success. 
  • Define the culture and norms of Product Marketing at Tropic and eventually build out a world class team of product marketing managers. 

What You’ve Done

  • 7+ years’ experience in product marketing, working at a high-performing start-up in the B2B SaaS space. 
  • You have deep empathy for our customers and are able to adapt how you communicate to best reach and engage our audience—from a procurement associate to the CFO—and differentiate Tropic. 
  • You are able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep various work streams and teams on track for delivery. 
  • You are eager to work on the problems we’re solving and have a strong desire to make an impact at Tropic. You thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic, hyper-growth environment and are able to operate fluidly between the 10,000-foot strategy level and the smallest details to get things right. 
  • Have helped build and scale a high-performance product marketing team. We are a fast-growing organization and we are looking for a leader who can help create, develop, and maintain a strong culture of product marketing. 
  • Product Marketers are strong team players and need to collaborate well across basically every team at Tropic. You are able to work with a range of disciplines and stakeholders to execute on your work. 
  • Persuasive and proactive communicator. Able to bring visibility to projects and progress toward a goal at both a team and company level. 
  • Experience creating sales enablement content/materials for sales and success teams selling to developers as well as technical leaders. 
  • Experience partnering with sales to support expansion within accounts and across customers via product education and sales enablement materials.
  • Possesses an eye for good design, particularly as it pertains to marketing materials (e.g. website, branding, etc.). 

Compensation

Specific to pay transparency laws, the minimum annual salary for this position is $150,000 and may also include commission, incentive pay, incentive stock options, and benefits. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business considerations.
