The Role

In this role, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring we make the most out of our paid marketing systems. That includes experimenting with new paid marketing bidding strategies, optimizing existing automated systems, and bringing out insights from paid marketing data that helps us identify new opportunity or problem areas. In addition, you’ll have joint responsibility for actively managing the performance of our very large paid marketing program. There will be opportunities for high visibility in this role as you report upwards to the leadership team about performance trends, optimization wins, and roadmap planning. 


Examples of What You'll Do


  • Test out new, cutting-edge SEM bidding strategies and products available from search partners like Google

  • Design and execute experiments to help measure the true value of our SEM, Display, and Paid Social marketing activity 

  • Seek out improvements to our existing automated paid marketing systems and then manage their execution. Past examples include fine-tuning a model we use that factors in canceled bookings, and changing how we pass certain conversion event information to our advertising partners 

  • Prioritize the work of direct reports you’ll be managing

  • Oversee the development of new data reports that make marketing and systems insights available. Then, use these insights to push for optimization decisions

  • Check on marketing performance daily and regularly report outward to the wider team and upward to the leadership team about trends, wins, and future plans 


What We Seek


  • 5+ years of work experience, preferably in a data analytics role

  • Someone who is comfortable interpreting lots of graphs and very large datasets

  • Someone who has an understanding of experimental design

  • Someone who has the ability to use SQL for self-service data pulls and analysis 

  • Someone with strong strategic conviction and communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and make impactful decisions

  • Someone who is eager to learn more and eager to understand everything there is to know about a topic

  • Someone who has experience people-managing 

  • Someone who is proactive in their approach to work

  • Someone who has knowledge of or experience with e-commerce business models and/or digital advertising
