Account Manager Role:

Viator is looking for a dynamic professional to join our account management team. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing relationships with suppliers who list their inventory of tour, activity, and ticket products on Viator, Tripadvisor, and our network of affiliate sites.


Primary responsibilities include proactively managing and building trusted relationships with suppliers, strategizing and executing regional development plans, optimizing product quality and bookability, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.


This role requires excellent communication and people skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changes. The ideal candidate should act as an organizational “thought leader”, proactively proposing creative solutions, maintaining awareness of competitive landscape and macro conditions in destinations to develop business objectives.   • Build strong long-term relationships with local tour operators, attractions, DMOs, and tourism bureaus
  • Plan and execute on regional development strategy to stimulate regional growth, increase conversion, and develop new local experiences to meet customer demand depending on the target markets
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
  • Ensure high product quality, competitive pricing, availability, in-destination bookability, and other commercial terms to achieve high customer satisfaction
  • Analyze sales performance by utilizing reporting tools and leverage supplier relationships to optimize revenue growth
  • Develop efficient mass communication strategy and tools to educate suppliers on self-service platforms
  • Act as a liaison with other Tripadvisor teams to lead or facilitate collaborative projects. Proactively collaborate with internal cross-functional teams including Sales Ops, Product, PR, Editorial, Video to initiate new projects or support assigned projects
  • Work with internal supplier support and the customer service teams to resolve assigned cases or product issues in a timely fashion
  • Assist suppliers with API connectivity projects by facilitating communications with our internal API team
  • Attend trade events, participate in regional speaking engagements, and host educational workshops and webinars as needed


What we are looking for?

  • 3 to 5+ years Account Management or sales experience, preferably with an online company
  • Travel industry experience preferred; experience with tour operators or attractions highly regarded
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in Japanese language is required; fluency in Korean or Mandarin a plus
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
  • Flexible and adaptable personality; self-motivated, enthusiastic, strategic minded, and able to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with MS Excel, CRM tools (preferably Salesforce) and content management systems; highly proficient use of data and reporting tools
  • API system knowledge or experience effectively facilitating communications between API engineers and suppliers a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
