Senior Insights Associate, TripAdvisor Strategic Insights: Core Experience

TripAdvisor is the world’s largest online travel site, visited by on average 490 million travelers each month. We are here to inform and assist travelers throughout their entire travel journey and own deep relationships with an incredibly valuable audience of travel intenders. 

In this role you will support the TripAdvisor global sales organization tasked with finding the best, most compelling stories to support TripAdvisor’s sales efforts for top-tier marketing partners. This person will be responsible for synthesizing and delivering compelling insights and visualizations that support our business, designing and delivering advertising effectiveness studies, developing category trend reports and managing custom research projects for TripAdvisor’s premiere clients. This role will be based in TripAdvisor’s New York City office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the day to day research & analytics needs of the TripAdvisor Sales organization
  • Respond quickly and accurately to research requests from US, Canada and LATAM sales team using syndicated data tools along with TripAdvisor’s own in-house user measurement tools
  • Maintain a research database of key data points, facts, and insights for the Sales team to readily access
  • Keep the Americas and global team up to date on the  latest industry trends, acting as a subject matter expert at what’s going on in the world of online media
  • Partner with other members of the research team on larger research initiatives such as content insights, trend reports, and general thought leadership
  • Leverage TripAdvisor worldwide user data and syndicated resources to produce compelling findings on clients’ digital marketing campaigns that prove ROI and drive renewal
  • Proactively bring new ideas and ways TripAdvisor’s extensive data can be used to further strengthen client relationships
  • Maintain relevant vendor relationships to find ways to further enhance the TripAdvisor sales offering via platform & capabilities partnerships 
  • Attend meetings or calls with senior client stakeholders to present analysis and findings

  • Able to learn tools quickly and to dig deeper to discover new and better ways of surfacing insights to TripAdvisor and our clients
  • Passionate about working in a dynamic, collaborative fast paced environment that requires flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities on an international team


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Background in basic quantitative research and/or analytics a must, in either a digital marketing agency/publisher setting or in academia
  • Deep understanding of the advertising media landscape across digital, mobile, social, and video
  • 5+ years of experience with syndicated media research tools (e.g. MRI, comScore, SimilarWeb and ListenFirst), web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), and third-party research platforms (e.g. Mintel, eMarketer) preferred
  • Excellent spoken/written English, with a strong working knowledge of other major languages also preferred
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Google Slides, KeyNote and Excel 
  • Experience in illustrating quantitative and qualitative data in a visual manner a must
  • Travel industry experience or other related field preferred 
  • Experience with SQL a strong plus
