 In this role you will support the TripAdvisor Global Sales organization tasked with finding the best, most compelling stories to support TripAdvisor’s sales efforts for top-tier marketing partners, including the world’s most prominent hotel chains.

This person will be responsible for synthesizing and delivering compelling insights and visualizations that support our hotels business, designing and delivering critical analyses of their marketing spends, conducting advertising effectiveness studies, developing traveler trend reports and managing custom research projects for TripAdvisor’s premiere clients. This role will be based in TripAdvisor’s New York City office.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond quickly and accurately to research requests from the global sales team using syndicated data tools

  • Maintain a research database of key data points, facts, and insights for the sales team

  • Partner with other members of the research team on larger research initiatives such as content insights, trend reports, and thought leadership

  • Support the day to day research & analytics needs of the TripAdvisor Hotels Sales organization

  • Analyze the success of hotelier spends on TripAdvisor marketing products and provide actionable advice on how to improve

  • Leverage TripAdvisor worldwide user data and syndicated resources to produce compelling findings on clients’ digital marketing campaigns that prove ROI and drive renewal

  • Proactively bring new ideas in terms of how TripAdvisor’s extensive data can be used to further strengthen client relationships

  • Maintain key vendor relationships to find ways to further enhance the TripAdvisor sales offering via platform & capabilities partnerships 

  • Attend meetings or calls with senior client stakeholders to present analysis and findings

 Required Skills 

  • Strong analytical skills, an insatiable curiosity, and adept at problem solving through data storytelling

  • A proven talent for identifying insights and developing them into compelling presentations

  • Keen attention to detail, be task-driven and have the ability to produce key deliverables and hit important deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with PowerPoint, Google Slides, KeyNote and Excel

  • A desire and willingness to learn tools quickly and to dig deeper to discover new and better ways of surfacing insights

  • A working understanding of the advertising media landscape across digital, mobile, social, and video

  • Strong desire to work in a dynamic, collaborative fast paced environment that requires flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities on an international team

  • Passionate about the world of travel and its future potential

  • An analytical thinker motivated  by intellectual curiosity to learn and understand the latest idea and methodologies in digital marketing analytics

  • Highly motivated, self-starter capable of moving multiple projects forward independently with a manager located remotely

  • Experience managing operational tasks in a digital environment – at an agency, client, or publisher

  • Innovative & on the lookout for information, developments and market news to help the team sell more effectively

  • Excellent spoken/written English, with a strong working knowledge of other major languages also preferred

  • Experience with hotel chains and the greater travel industry preferred but not required

  • A background in basic quantitative research and/or analytics needed, in either a digital marketing agency/publisher setting or in academia. Also willing to consider candidates from traditional media

  • SQL a strong plus but not required

  • Experience in illustrating quantitative and qualitative data in a visual manner

  • Bachelor’s degree or above. Excellent candidates with 7+ years relevant experience will be considered.
