TripAdvisor is looking for a Communications Manager to join its Asia Pacific team based in Singapore. The role reports to the Senior Manager of the region, leading several priority markets from the Singapore office – the company’s Asia Pacific headquarters. The role is focused on regional communications that includes a media approach but also a specific remit to help the team build an effective social strategy for key markets in Asia. The role also works in tandem with other in-market communications team members in China, India and Japan. push the boundaries beyond the traditional announcement to deliver exciting, engaging campaigns with great return on investment and results we can measure. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Develop and activate consumer campaigns that help make TripAdvisor’s story relevant to audiences within Asia Pacific
  • Support manager in the planning and development of APAC content that can be shared across markets, with maximum social echo – the more channel agnostic, the better
  • Localisation and activation of global campaigns into markets, encouraging a high share rate wherever possible
  • Identify ways to repackage and repurpose content and site data to consumers wherever we can to showcase TripAdvisor’s usefulness in all stages of the travel planning lifecycle
  • Includes drafting media releases, features and other content pieces, or managing vendors to create multimedia content
  • Work alongside internal stakeholders (i.e. Destination Marketing Org, Flights, Display teams, Partnerships teams etc.) to develop and execute socially driven ideas to demonstrate the holistic value of TripAdvisor as a tool to maximise travel
  • Includes developing influencer campaigns for markets/region, where apt
  • Work with team to develop and maintain a robust library of consumer assets for the region
  • Manage content calendars for specific markets, where necessary
  • Support the team in protecting and enhancing TripAdvisor’s reputation across the region
  • Act as back-up, if needed, for crisis and issues
  • Support and enable spokespersons in Asia Pacific with media and speaking opportunities that are consumer-focused
  • Develop written content for media use, e.g. briefing documents, talking points, press announcements, media pitches, etc.
  • Conduct effective pre-interview briefings and media/messaging training for company spokespeople
  • Work with agencies, led by Senior Manager, to successfully drive consumer results
  • Work with, mentor and grow team’s junior coordinator
  • Manage central press office function that comes through Singapore
  • Effectively track KPIs, evaluate results and effectiveness of campaigns
  • Collaborating and working effectively as part of a virtual team with the wider global communications team, as well as other functions within the business 

What you’ll bring to the team: 

  • 6-8 years’ experience in integrated communications, specifically for consumer brands; agency experience a plus
  • Experience of managing people (internal/agencies) and budgets
  • Experience of working within a diverse business environment with a range of stakeholders with different needs, as well as interfacing with senior people
  • The ability to story tell and a love for wanting to put stories together – good writing skills mandatory!
  • Fluent in English, with additional APAC languages a plus – Indonesian, Korean, etc.
