As we continue to expand our team, we are seeking a talented Operational Technology engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the internal support of our teams.

The Team

You will report to our OT Engineering Manager and support our distributed Trimark Community across the US.  You will collaborate closely across the organization with our technology, operations, and executive teams.

The Environment

This role is Office-Based in our Folsom, CA Corporate Headquarters, or El Dorado Hills Production facility. You will work in a controlled office environment. You may be required to sit for extended periods of time using a keyboard and monitor display, lift up to 20lbs, and push/pull up to 50lbs, and minimal travel to and from our production facility in El Dorado Hills, CA may be required.

Your Key Contributions

  • Assist in design, configuration, installation and commissioning of a SCADA Network stack for a utility scale power generation facility.
    • Assist in the deployment and documentation of Servers and Virtualization Clusters such as Dell Hyper-V platforms, Nutanix VM Clusters, Dell Power Edge Servers and OnLogic Karbon Servers. These will be used to run the SCADA software, HMI and Historian (Database) for the critical SCADA infrastructure.
    • Assist in the deployment and documentation of SCADA network devices, such as Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Arista or Moxa to allow communication between critical devices in the SCADA network to allow for controls and monitoring of the remote facility.
  • Assist with creation of standard documentation through templates of Master Network Details which includes - Subnets, VLANs, Port settings, Client Protocol Devices, etc.
  • Aid in troubleshooting issues and implement fixes on operational sites, such as troubleshooting comms issues between fiber runs, ethernet runs and other devices in the SCADA network.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in relevant Engineering discipline with one years’ work experience; OR equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
  • Hands-on experience in managing, deploying and configuring Windows OS and Linux devices. Including simply building your own computer.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing communication networks of any kind.
  • Basic exposure and understanding of networking concepts.

Desired Qualifications

  • Rudimentary experience with any CLI, such as Windows PowerShell, Linux CLI, SSH access to Networking devices (Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto etc.)
  • Understanding of Docker containers.
  • Certification with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, CompTIA+ or any other IT/OT related certification.
  • Hands-on experience in managing, deploying or configuring Windows Server or Linux OS’s on Dell Hyper-V or Nutanix hardware.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing communication networks for critical infrastructure including multi-layer network architecture. Hands-on experience for at least one year with Cisco IOS CLI.
  • Experience with implementing industry standard cyber security requirements: DMZ, jump/ proxy servers, firewall rules, etc.
  • Ability to run packet captures and understand packet level details.
  • Experience in network engineering including Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing, firewalls and site to site VPNs, and Client Access VPNs.
  • Strong experience with cross-platform CLI commands, specifically when pertaining to Linux, Windows PowerShell, Cisco and Palo Alto Firewalls, and a multitude of L3 switching OS’s.

Pay Transparency

This announcement is open to Level I job levels.  The base pay range for this position is $95,800-$108,300/year, with starting salary typically in the low to mid-range for the job level.  This is an overtime exempt position.  Compensation is based on market rate, job level, job related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and certifications.  This is a Full Time opportunity.
