Job Purpose

The Business/Data Analyst - Payments works in a multi-functional data & analytics team responsible for driving initiatives to improve the use of data and automated processes to reduce manual workload for different business teams at Travix. Your main responsibility is to define and execute a roadmap for these initiatives that will provide maximum value to Payment, Fraud and Chargebacks teams, among others.

You are expected to be Travix’s in-house expert for best practices in utilizing data to analyze the payment process. You will be responsible for ensuring that data used by Payment, Fraud and Chargebacks teams is reliable and as well as developing new solutions that give valuable insights for the business team.

You are highly energized at the prospect of consultatively solving difficult analytical challenges with big impact and helping payment teams make informed, data-driven decisions to grow the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and Analysis: Building monitoring tools to provide analytical insight of payment operations
  • Supporting Key Initiatives: Assisting the Payment team in delivering products assisting key initiatives of the team with the help of other Data Teams (Data Science and Data Engineers)
  • Communication: Be a point of contact for Payment teams with the rest of Data team
  • Independently develop and lead key complex analytical projects. This includes setting up in-house data modeling tools in Python.
  • Scale decision-making tools and produce KPI-driven dashboards to help payment team stakeholders.
  • Run complex queries to pull data, interpret & synthesize large datasets, drawing out actionable insights.
  • Communicate insights generated in a clear story and provide strategic and tactical recommendations.

What you bring to the table

  • More than 3+ years experience in Data Analyst role. Experience working with payments data and stakeholders highly desired
  • Master degree in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, or another relevant study
  • Advanced experience with analytics tools & dashboards (Looker)
  • Strong understanding and experience with Fraud Risk evaluation models
  • Understanding of payments flow process
  • Experience of working in consultative business analytics teams is an advantage.

Technical skills

  • Strong Excel and SQL capabilities
  • Skills with Python and statistical modeling is a plus. A willingness to learn is essential
  • Strong BI skills. Looker is preferred.
