FSO/Fiber Optics PHY Expert



  • Responsible for improving the performance of free space optics device through channel modelling, coding and modulation scheme optimization.
  • Understanding the effects of atmospheric conditions like rain, fog, snow, etc. on free space optics channel performance and recommending improvements to increase the robustness of the free space optics device.
  • Design and develop the fiber network architecture for layer 2/3 communication unit.



  • PhD or Master's Degree in computational physics, photonics or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience in free space optics channel modelling.
  • Knowledgeable in free space optics coding and modulation techniques.
  • Experience in designing and building fiber communication networks.
  • Knowledgeable in the physics of fiber communication and fiber optics communication components like EDFA, DWDM Mux/Demux, etc.
  • Mastery in network simulation softwares like optiwave and VPIphotonics.
  • Well versed in MATLAB or python programming.



  • Experience with designing and/or handling manufacturing test equipment
  • Experience in testing components for quick prototyping and proof of concepts
  • Thrives in working with a team of people from different backgrounds in a highly collaborative, time sensitive environment
