Art Machine, a division of Trailer Park Group, is a fully integrated advertising agency dedicated to building fans for brands and entertainment properties. Art Machine is looking for one dynamic individual to research, identify, prospect, and land new business opportunities to help grow our brand division.

The VP of New Business Development is a senior leadership role working in partnership with our Executive Creative Director and Account Director to drive new client business. We have a strong account team with a track record of growing relationships in a post-pitch stage, and that team will inherit and own clients, once won.

ABOUT US

Art Machine was formed in 1999 as a digital and print entertainment agency. In 2007, to diversify, we began working with brands and merged with entertainment agency, Trailer Park. Over the years, Art Machine has worked clients like Universal Theme Parks, Fiat Chrysler Automotive, the LA Rams, San Diego Zoo, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Kumho Tire, and the LA Clippers.

WORK MIX

Our mix of work has varied over the years to include broadcast, print, social, digital, brand identity and content. In 2018, based on internal changes at our agency, we pulled back on building brand, but are now re-starting that initiative. One of the advantages to our parent company, Trailer Park Group, is that so many disciplines (from editorial to motion to print to director needs) are all in-house.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, maintain and expand pipeline of new opportunities and contacts, reporting progress regularly to Leadership
  • Create a range of proposal materials including capabilities decks and two-pagers
  • Build and nurture relationships with potential clients
  • Develop roadmap to pitching and closing new business, in close collaboration with account and creative leads
  • Identify possible processes and resources to drive efficiency and efficacy for all new business opportunities
  • Proactively provide updates on prospects, confidence levels, and help forecast upcoming revenue
  • Become proficient in the inner workings, skillsets, and existing/past clients of Brand team
  • Prioritize healthy working relationships with Creative and Account teams
  • Produce results that grow the brand business and set post-pitch teams up for success

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 8 years experience in business development and/or sales
  • Proven track record of driving new business in the traditional agency, digital, or content spaces
  • Strong research, planning and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently (division head will be available to partner in any meeting, but there will be no assistant or coordinator on the new business team)
  • Familiarity with new business tools (Agency will invest in as needed)

Please note that a job offer for this position will be determined based on many factors, including experience, unique skill set, other qualifications, location, job performance (current employees), and various business and budgetary considerations.

Annual base pay range for this position is below.

$185,000 - $195,000 USD
