Your Mission
 
Reporting to VP of Finance, the Legal Counsel will oversee all legal aspects at TrackTik. You will serve as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders including the sales & marketing, client success, product, IT, finance and HR teams
 
Your Day-to-Day
 
  • Manage all day-to-day legal activities including commercial contracts, corporate, regulatory, intellectual property, privacy and internal cross-functional teams support;
  • Work hand in hand with our CISO on privacy and cybersecurity programs;
  • Manage external counsel engagements and coordinate with the key stakeholders internally when external advice is required;
  • Manage the company’s insurance portfolio, including policy renewals; 
  • Assist in the design and development of corporate programs, policies, procedures, training and audits required for private company compliance; 
  • Support financing & corporate development activities including M&A, strategic partnerships and geographic expansion; and
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and supporting complex, cross-functional and/or multi-jurisdictional projects and special requests from the executive team.
 
Skills & Experience
 
  • Qualified candidates will possess their Law degree from a recognized law school and be a member in good standing of a Canadian provincial bar, preferably the Barreau du Québec
  • 5+ years experience – ideally having started out at a law firm, following by in-house experience
  • Prior experience in software, technology & SaaS experience, a major asset
  • Strong commercial drafting and negotiating skills
  • Bilingual – French and English 
  • Practical, creative, proactive, business-savvy and results oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
  • Robust professional and work ethics 
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
