About the Role:
Our client is looking for an energetic, experienced Network Engineer to implement and support all aspects of our corporate network infrastructure to rapidly expand their geographic footprint. The Network Engineer will be well-versed in firewalls, switches, wireless, and cloud networking and will be able to understand growing business demands. They will provide the right technology solutions to solve immediate problems while futureproofing for resiliency and scale. A successful candidate will not be married to specific network platforms and can apply network engineering thought leadership across multiple domains in partnership with diverse vendors to meet business demand.
What You’ll Do:
- Evaluate existing network topology and identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement
- Designed and implemented best-in-class network solutions for site expansion and core network operations.
- Manage WAPs across offices and warehouses
- Own circuit procurement and delivery
- Actively participate in new site network configuration
- Define cloud network security architecture, principles, standards, and guidelines to be implemented.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and secure distributed systems and network architectures in the cloud.
- Provide support for new and existing network infrastructure
- Evaluate and implement network monitoring and alerting solutions to create a high-availability network service.
- Collaborate across all facets of IT, including cybersecurity, end-user support, and senior leadership on overall systems design and implementation for solutions that scale.
- Actively manage vendors and partners required in the delivery and ongoing operations of our
network infrastructure. - Document system configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Travel for the purposes of physical network installation and configuration is required
Qualifications & Interests:
- 5+ years designing and implementing network solutions in structurally complex organizations
- 5+ years performing vendor management and network solution evaluation across multiple network platforms – Fortinet, Aruba, Cisco Meraki, Ruckus, Extreme Networks, etc.
- Minimum 2 yrs experience analyzing network flow logs (both NetFlow and VPC flow logs)
- Hands-on experience working with AWS services and tools such as: VPC, Direct Connect, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Understanding of SDWAN Networks, including Azure/AWS connectors
- Experience with the implementation of multi-tenant cloud environments
- Understanding of security protocols: SSL, IPSE, ACL, etc.
- Proven ability to negotiate with and manage third-party suppliers and vendors
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex projects to meet time, quality, and budget requirements
- Direct experience managing networks for offices and warehouses
- Experience working in an Agile environment is preferred
- Heavy travel involved (50% - 65%)
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field).
- Network certification (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Aruba ACMP & ACSP)
- AWS, Azure and GCP certifications is preferred
- Familiar with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and modern voice and data network architectures.
