JOB SUMMARY:
As part of the Trace3xperience Program, the Cloud FinOps Tracer (Intern) will be offered an opportunity to integrate with a world-class Cloud Solutions Group. The Tracer will be exposed to the operational aspects of a group focused on delivering Cloud FinOps consulting solutions and receiving an overview of services in Cloud architecture, engineering, and advisory to a client base anchored in the Fortune 1000 space. Trace3’s Cloud group features practice areas in Cloud Platform Security, Modern Workplace Security (M365 Suite), Cloud Strategy, FinOps, Application Modernization & Migration, and Cloud Infrastructure. This Intern role is specifically in our Cloud FinOps team.
Tracers in this program will receive accelerated professional development, exposure to all technical functions of an IT consulting organization, world-class mentoring, and unique networking opportunities across the organization.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN AND DO:
- Achieve FinOps certification (FinOps Practitioner), and possibly look at other public Cloud certifications
- Learn the fundamentals of Data Center and Cloud environments (ranging from very small to very large)
- Shadow consultants/engineers on active client engagements - Once comfortable, you will help assist with non-customer-facing tasks such as FinOps backend administration and internal planning meetings
- Assist with collateral creation through building out PowerPoint decks, solution briefs and process documentation, documentation of best practices/operations
- Help shadow client calls and take down meeting minutes to share back with the team once meetings have concluded
- Assist with report configuration, analysis, and distribution
- Learn how to read financial reports, how they apply to the technical Cloud, and translate the implications to communicate back to client stakeholders
ELIGIBILITY AND PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Enrollment in the Junior or Senior year of an undergraduate program, at an accredited college or university
- Candidates should have a growth mindset (rapidly learn and grow through trial and error), excellent communication skills (written and verbal), be pursuing a non-engineering degree like Business, Finance, MIS, etc… This is a unique opportunity to learn and pursue a very hot career area that incorporates multiple disciplines including business, finance, consulting, and technology.
- Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better; People and Organizational Health may require a copy of the applicant’s transcript
- Academic or professional/internship experience working in a professional setting is a plus
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments
- Self-motivated individuals with a customer mindset and desire to help people
- Enthusiasm for technical problem solving with attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Ability to learn and research in a dynamic and engaging environment
- Availability to work 40 hours per week throughout the internship
- Office 365 environment
- Cloud Fundamentals Certification optional – AZ-900, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Google Cloud Fundamentals.
