We are expanding our product offering into Wire Harnesses and require a Wire Harness Team Leader to work alongside our Production Manager at our Corby facility to set up this exciting new division. We already have demand from our customers for this service, and rather than use our current RF skilled labour, we want to do this properly and build a new team to deliver this.
Responsibilities
- Production
- Ability to read complex wire schematics
- Manufacture of complex loom and Harness with multiple breakouts
- Manufacture/soldering of fine wires up to 30AWG
- Use of hand tools and turrets
- Tool selection
- Crimp and Solder contacts
- Termination of circular and rectangular connectors e.g. D38999/Micro D
- Wire joining using methods such as lap joints and splices
- Building test jigs and harnesses
- Timing and costings of jobs
- Recruitment
- Build a team from the ground up
- Work with HR to create Job Descriptions
- Interviewing Candidates
- Team Management
- Day to day supervision of Harness team
- Appraisals/Quarterly reviews
- Skills matrix management
- Working with Planner and Production manager to allocate jobs
About You
The successful candidate will have a wire harness background and be passionate about their work, have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate well with their team and fellow co-workers. Be creative, enquiring and be capable of problem solving.
Familiarity of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Wire harness experience, ideally working on defence or aerospace projects.
Understanding of IPC620, ideally currently certified.

The role is on-site in Corby, Northamptonshire.
Normal hours of work are Monday-Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm (30 minutes for lunch, 2 x 15 minute breaks) and Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm (1 x 15 minute break).
