Broadcast Radio Automation Systems Engineer
The Broadcast Radio Automation Systems Engineer role will be responsible for installing and supporting Broadcast automation systems, broadcast scheduling and audio ingest platforms. Additionally support Audio over IP and streaming systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage activities for a goal of 100% uptime of station on-air and streaming products
- Ensure compliance with all Company Engineering and Information Technology practices
- Interface with Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Senior Vice President of Engineering
- Installation, maintenance and support of Broadcast automation (Zetta/Nexgen) and Audio over IP systems (Wheatstone/Axia)
- Manages automation and scheduling security to ensure appropriate user access.
- Provides remote break/fix support as requested by radio stations across the country.
- Instructs new users on relevant software platform features and functionality.
- Personal computer, servers, printers, software maintenance and updating
- LAN systems installation, maintenance and support
- Ability/Desire to travel to markets for installations, upgrades, and support
- After hours and weekend work as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills needed:
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient, or able to gain proficiency with Windows workstation and server operating systems, MSSQL, AD User/Group management, VMWare and Audio over IP systems (Wheatnet/Axia), networking (Cisco/Fortinet).
- Experience with the following platforms is preferred:
- RCS Zetta, RCS NexGen, RCS GSelector, RCSnews, Master Automation Import Manager (AIM), VMware, Cisco, Fortinet, MS365
- Thorough understanding of radio automation and radio operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
Education & Experience:
- Broadcast radio automation experience is required. Technical training school, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Programming, or a related field preferred but not required as broadcast radio experience is highly valued.
- At least three years of experience in computer systems with specialization in broadcast/radio automation highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
