We are seeking a lab-based chemist to contribute to Totus oncology programs.  This candidate will bring expertise in the design and synthesis of small molecules to drive Totus drug discovery programs.  You will be part of a dynamic organization and therefore you should be comfortable in a “building-mode” biotech setting where you will shape the company’s scientific strategy, culture, and mission. In this role you will: 

  • Design and execute the synthesis of small molecules to support Totus oncology programs
  • Work collaboratively with the Totus laboratory team and external vendors in establishing and maintaining an efficient and safe chemistry laboratory
  • Foster a highly collaborative interdisciplinary scientific environment
  • Contribute to program success through assessment of data to drive efficient iterations and progression of chemical matter towards program goals
  • Work with internal scientists and external CROs to efficiently gather program driving data

Requirements: 

  • 2+ years of industry experience in organic chemistry
  • Experience in modern chemistry techniques in compound synthesis, purification, and reaction monitoring.
  • Experience in the design and synthesis of covalent inhibitors is a plus
  • Experience in purchase and maintenance of instrumentation utilized in a synthetic chemistry laboratory is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively across scientific disciplines
  • Adept at searching literature and using modern tools to aid in design of synthetic schemes
