Torn Banner Studios recently launched Chivalry 2, the sequel to our multi-million copy selling original. We are a small independent video game studio of around 80 developers in Toronto and we love creating innovative new experiences that focus on challenge and fun.
About the Role
As a Senior Character Artist at a small independent studio, you’ll have a wide range of responsibilities from creating art to organizing the department, communicating with production, facilitating feedback and working with leads to execute the vision for the games we make.
Responsibilities
- See characters through from conception to completion
- Produce high quality 3D characters, weapons, and customization assets for AAA titles
- Work closely with the Production, Environment, Animation, and other artists to bring the concepts to life
Requirements
- An exceptional portfolio of work that exemplifies the creation of high-quality character art
- 5+ years of professional game development experience
- Expert knowledge of game character development processes, from sculpting to retopology, baking, UVs, texturing, etc
- Ability to provide an in-depth critique
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Personally motivated
- Willingness to work in the province of Ontario, Canada (relocation assistance available)
Bonuses

- Experience with Unreal Engine materials and blueprints setup
- Experience with Maya and Substance Painter
- Basic understanding of Rigging
- Concept Art skills
