At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will transform how we travel, move freight, and do business.
A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now a part of the Daimler family, we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight.
Join us and catapult your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology, and the first AV software company with the vision to partner directly with a truck manufacturer.
Meet the Team:
The Simulation Environment team plays a key rolein simulating a virtual world inwhich autonomous truckscan be tested. Testing in thisvirtual world allowsa fast assessment of the developed autonomous driving functionsand a rapid creation of results for different driving scenarios. For these tests to be meaningful, it is essential that the virtual truck behaves like a truck in the real world:the physicsof the real autonomous truckmust be adequately represented by virtualvehicledynamics models. In addition to developing these models, the Simulation Environment team alsodevelopsevaluation tools to assess the validity of the vehicle dynamics model against closed-course/on-road test measurements.
What you'll do:
We are seeking a talented working student to join our team in Stuttgart. You will be supportingthe development of testing methods and software tools for autonomous vehicles. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the cutting-edgefield of autonomous vehicles and contribute to the development and testing of this technology.
Develop tools to accelerate vehicle model development • Develop tools to compare/analyze simulation results generated by vehicle models of varying complexity • Develop and implement continuous integration tests to automate testing processes for the tools you created. • Collaborate with team members to identify relevant vehicle dynamic scenarios and develop virtual test cases for them • Create comprehensive documentation for developed tools, including user guides and technical specifications.
What you’ll need to Succeed:
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
