At Too Good To Go, we have an ambitious mission: to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together.

More than 1/3 of all food produced in the world is wasted. And that has a huge impact on the health of our planet. 10% of greenhouse gas emissions come from food waste and loss.

Through our marketplace app, we connect businesses that have unsold, surplus food, with consumers who can buy and enjoy it at ⅓ of retail value. We are a certified B Corporation with a mission to empower everyone to take action against food waste. Alongside our marketplace app, we create educational tools, explore new business solutions, and influence legislation to help reduce food waste.

In this role, you will make a direct, positive contribution to our mission every day. As part of the expansion team in Portugal, the journey promises to be exciting as you will be part of changing the conversation around food waste and establishing the Too Good To Go brand in the minds of customers and food businesses.

We’re growing fast: Our community of 103 million registered users and 237,000 active partners across 19 countries, have together already saved 373 million meals from going to waste - avoiding almost 1009,000 tonnes of CO2e!

We’re looking for a Sales Specialist (Area Sales) to join the Sales team at Too Good To Go in Porto.

Your mission

As a Sales Specialist (Area Sales), you are in charge of turning interest into passion: contact all stores as fast as possible and sell Too Good To Go to turn everyone into an ambassador! You are responsible for sharing our values with all new partners: first impressions count.

You'll be at the forefront of our expansion in the metropolitan area of Porto and be responsible of the whole area, engaging with restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, and bakeries who have shown interest in Too Good To Go, showcasing the benefits of joining our platform.

Through phone calls, meetings, emails and messaging, you'll do cold outreach, you'll onboard new partners and help them through their journey during their first month at Too Good To Go. Your focus will be cold outreach, doing outbound calls, meeting our partners face to face while signing new partnerships everyday!

The stores you sign up and support to make their initial Too Good To Go experience positive, will continue their food-saving journey long into the future, meaning you will build your own personal legacy within the company and our mission.

This role will be based in Porto with a remote policy, travelling to Lisbon as needed.

Your role in a nutshell:

  • Negotiation and persuasion: you will educate and empower stores that you have reached out to join us at Too Good To Go and fight food waste together.
  • You will be an expert in converting and developing partnerships and will optimise new sales processes, sales coaching, data analysis and find synergies with other teams.
  • Powerful communication: You will deliver the value of the Too Good To Go and our benefits to potential customers, establishing relationships and building strong rapport
  • Effective selling: you will use customer service techniques to identify store needs and curate the best setup for them in cold calls and online and live meetings.
  • Successfully onboard and train the stores and their employees to set them up for long term success in using our platform
  • Follow up with the stores: you will keep the relationship with the store for 4 weeks to make sure they are fully set up to enable them to hit the ground running and maximise their impact.
  • This role is remote but you’ll be accountable for the whole Porto metropolitan area - you’ll maintain a high volume of calls and communication with stores, meet with them live or online and focus on achieving monthly sales targets, everyone in the Porto metropolitan area should know who you are.

You will be a great fit, if

  • You have experience working within a sales environment, particularly with phone-based sales over the phone (cold calling), and field meetings.
  • You’re a fantastic speaker (and importantly, listener) with the ability to quickly connect and establish a relationship with potential partners - bakeries, restaurants, cafes and more
  • You have zero fear of the phone and the tenacity to keep trying when things get tough
  • You’re rigorous, resourceful and organised: you prioritise well and keep track of your pipeline
  • You’re data-driven, have experience working with a CRM and have basic knowledge of Excel.
  • You’re autonomousindependent: you know how to schedule your time to help you juggle multiple projects
  • You’re a team player and know how to create synergy with other areas of the business to help fight food waste together

We recognise that every individual has a unique background that brings value, so we don’t require the following specific experience, but it would be nice if you have:

  • Experience in a sales role, where you have pitched and closed opportunities over the phone.
  • Experience cold-calling, demonstrating the resilience and motivation to achieve high call volumes, ie: call centers, recruitment environments, etc.
  • Experience managing your own pipeline and prioritising data based on insights. Having worked with Salesforce is a plus, but any experience using a CRM tool will be useful.

Our values

  • We Win Together
  • We Raise the Bar
  • We Keep It Simple
  • We Build A Legacy
  • We Care

  • Personal and professional development opportunities in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
  • An inclusive company culture where you can bring your authentic self to work
  • Most of your time will be spent remotely but you’ll travel to Lisbon regularly to be with the team.
  • A strong, values-driven team culture where we celebrate successes and socialise with colleagues

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
