About the team

Tomorrow Health’s Legal & Compliance team is responsible for crafting, executing, and holding others accountable to the compliance strategy of Tomorrow Health.  This team partners with the Operations, Technology, and Business Development teams to ensure Tomorrow Health manages risk throughout the company and fulfills all relevant regulatory requirements. 

About the role

We are currently looking for the first member of our in-house legal & regulatory team to build, guide and implement Tomorrow Health’s company-wide compliance and regulatory strategy. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this person will work closely with external counsel, and with team leaders across business development, technology, and operations, focusing heavily on building risk-management processes, and regulatory adherence. Some examples of work you will take on over the next three months:

  • You will lead Security-related projects by partnering with technical and non-technical teams across the business
  • You will educate the Tomorrow Health team and external stakeholders about our compliance strategy and protocols
  • You will ensure Tomorrow Health’s adherence to all local and national regulatory obligations and requirements
  • You will execute against our compliance processes and functions (e.g. licensing, permits, accreditations, audits)
  • You will test the implemented controls and perform risk assessments based on established frameworks and internal policies
  • You will own the on time and comprehensive completion of security risk assessment questionnaires by gathering information from across the organization as necessary
  • You will assist the Head of Engineering in maturing the security risk management strategy throughout the organization
  • You will develop and maintain relevant risk metrics to promote transparency to peer teams, senior leadership and any other relevant stakeholders

About You - We’re looking for someone who: 

  • Has least 5 years of experience in legal strategy, compliance, & security, ideally at a forward-thinking healthcare company
  • Is excited by the prospect of rolling up their sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day
  • Has relevant experience in third party risk assessment, interpretation and maintenance of security policies and standards, and risk management
  • Has experience working with security frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, NIST, ISO, etc.
  • Has strong cross-functional team experience; leadership experience is a plus
  • Has foundational knowledge of healthcare licensing or auditing requirements 
  • Has outstanding, effective communication skills 
  • Has the ability to manage multiple projects (both internal and external) simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Is highly organized and detail oriented
  • Believes deeply in the idea that the future of healthcare can be significantly better and is driven by the opportunity we have in front of us to make it a reality
  • Has a track record of continual learning and improvement throughout their career
  • Strives for operational excellence and knows that there is always room to do better
