We are looking for a Manager of Product Development to oversee the day-to-day operations of the technological, database and application development resources of the company. This individual is expected to promote quality, service, growth and cost-effective management of resources.  In addition to providing management and oversight, this individual helps develop and implement new technologies, manage relationships with key client partners, vendors and the public and also monitors and enforces data security, compliance and quality control policies. 


Strategic Planning and Management – 60% of time 

  • Oversee departmental operations to insure efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of resources 
  • Direct departmental planning and policy-making efforts 
  • Hire, supervise, train, assist and evaluate supervisors and managers of database and application developers 
  • Develop the skills of subordinates and encourage growth 
  • Foster innovative collaboration and synergy between departments 
  • Establish annual operational goals for all assigned employees that align with company priorities and evaluate performance toward achieving those goals 
  • Set budgets and review activity reports to determine progress in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions 
  • Monitor and enforce the company's ongoing quality control efforts 
  • Monitor and enforce the company's ongoing compliance efforts 
  • Design work flow and procedures 
  • Define, implement and oversee departmental standards for design, documentation and implementation 
  • Assess and anticipate technology projects and recommend appropriate action and resources 
  • Propose hardware and software solutions to accomplish the company's business objectives 
  • Select and manage assigned third-party IT providers and outsourced relationships 

Technology, Database & Application Development – 40% of time 

  • Create and implement new technology and manage existing technology for select business applications and projects to meet new business requirements, debug existing applications and enhance system usability  
  • Oversee and implement various phases of the software product lifecycle for new applications and projects 
  • Analyze and document business processes and technical specifications for existing applications and new software developments 
  • Resolve escalated IT issues as they arise 

Ongoing Duties 

  • Meet or exceed annual goals

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field required 
  • 5+ years of experience in the IT field 
  • Technical knowledge and skills including an understanding of the following: 
    • Operating system: Linux/Unix, Windows, IOS, Android 
    • Programming Languages: AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP (required), PostScript 
    • Databases: MySQL, RDS, Redis  
    • Web Server Technology: Apache, Nginx, Fortiweb 
    • Banking, credit card and ACH processing 
    • PCI compliance 
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask 
  • An unquestionable work ethic and the ability to accomplish established goals 
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures  
  • Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new technology, strategies and procedures 
  • A detailed understanding of all phases of the software lifecycle, large-scale web applications, networking and Internet theory and practice 
  • Ability to manage resources 
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data 
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies 
  • Dedicated to the 24-7 operation of all mission-critical applications and hardware 
  • Experience with small and large scale applied technologies, technology deployment and integration 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Experience managing a team of professionals 


  • Experience with QA Automation on a large platform with many paths 
  • Experience upgrading legacy applications to modern platforms and retiring technical debt
