In your role, you will be responsible for: 

  • Building up and running the company’s new battery storage business unit, as well as managing the company’s battery storage entities as a managing director
  • Leading and managing investments into battery storage assets across the entire transaction process (including: screening, qualitative and quantitative investment analysis, financial modelling, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and transaction documentation to closing)
  • Preparing relevant documents for internal and external communication and reporting
  • Stakeholder management and cooperating with development partners in Germany, the UK and Australia as well as internal departments and external advisors
  • Identifying, assessing and monitoring risks in all project phases
  • Active management, monitoring and optimization of acquired projects
  • Being on top of battery storage and energy markets trends, as well as competitor developments to enable informed strategy and business decisions
  • Implementing and managing processes and structures for a seamless investment and monitoring process

As a potential candidate, you have:

  • Significant work experience in energy infrastructure investments, investment banking, private equity or strategy consulting with strong exposure to the energy sector
  • A deep understanding of or interest in energy markets and battery storage technologies
  • A passion for investing, capital markets, and the energy transition
  • Commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial and performance-driven mindset
  • Ownership, self-responsibility, and a hands-on team player mentality
  • The ability to think critically, ask the right questions and dig deep
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to summarize complex topics and extract decision options and meaningful conclusions
  • Strong financial modeling skills and in-depth knowledge of valuation concepts
  • The ability to drive projects end-to end with excellent project and stakeholder management
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, German is considered a plus
