Located in Birmingham, Alabama, is the Time Inc. Food Studios, a state-of-the-art facility featuring 28 test kitchens, 13 photo studios, a prop and styling studio, an outdoor grill/BBQ station and an expansive showcase kitchen and tasting room for demonstrations and events. Powered by a talented team of test kitchen professionals, stylists, and photographers, the Time Inc. Food Studios is the country’s premier creative hub, producing thousands of world class recipes, images and related content annually for Time Inc.’s print, cookbook, digital and social platforms.
The Equipment Coordinator will report to the Photography Director and will manage the studio equipment inventory to support all staff and freelance photographers within the Food Studios.
Manage equipment inventory to ensure adequate stocking of studio supplies
Maintain camera equipment and troubleshoot gear issues as needed
Oversee the studio equipment budget and handle all purchases and repairs
Stay apprised/current on the latest studio equipment and technology
Act as liason with outside freelancers and approve all freelance invoices
Assist photographers on-set as needed
Shoot for digital stories as schedule allows

Experienced: Must have 3-5 years’ experience in a Photo Studio Environment. You have a vast understanding of Photo gear and software. Shooting skills in a studio environment is a plus.
A Multitasker: When it comes to juggling multiple projects at once, you’re a pro; anticipating needs before they arise.
Organized: You have the ability to manage high volumes of workflow including prioritization, planning, and task delegation under tight deadlines.
Flexible: Highly adaptable to supporting frequent changes in direction and workflow; ability to support multiple photographers with simultaneous assignments.
Physical Job Requirements – Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
