TIME for Kids is seeking an Associate Editor for its weekly current events magazine, which is used in elementary school classrooms. The associate editor will be involved in all aspects of creating content, from pitching, reporting, and writing stories to choosing photographs and editing other writers. He/she will also write and edit news and feature stories for timeforkids.com.
Pitch, research, and write compelling news and feature stories that are age appropriate for TFK readers
Assign stories to writers and edit their work
Ensure that articles are written at appropriate reading levels for each edition
Adapt TIME magazine articles to meet the needs of student readers
Collaborate with photo editors and designers to develop engaging content
Manage TFK Kid Reporters by assigning, developing, and editing their stories
