Time Inc. Studios, Time Inc.’s in-house video studio group, seeks a Post Production Systems Engineer to join our video engineering team that maintains facilities and systems that create content for TIME, PEOPLE, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, ESSENCE and other Time Inc. properties. This person will be expected to support Time Inc. Video Operations with day-to-day technical support of live, as-live and VOD content production and regular maintenance of video equipment in our Manhattan facility. This person would report directly to the Director of Video Engineering.
Install and maintain back end post production systems including Evolphin Zoom, Telestream Vantage, Quantum Stornext, SGL and Spectra Logic archive.
Troubleshoot server side and client side issues with the asset management ecosystem of services.
Assist with additional software development for the Evolphin Zoom asset management system.
Assist with user account management for post production systems.
Assist with Post Production tool support including Adobe Premiere and After Effects and Evolphin Zoom.
Understand the operation of technical equipment and software for use in the post production environment.
Provide feedback on the suitability of new products and workflows.
Actively participate in the support for video post production operations team including root cause analysis and preventative maintenance.
Troubleshoot technology issues as they arise through root cause analysis.
Experience: 3-5 years working in a broadcast or post production environment. Experience with production and post production workflows including custom MAM, SAN, DAM workflows strongly preferred. Bachelor's Degree in TV, Film or Broadcast Production, Technology, or Engineering. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) not just in day-to-day operations but also between you and the wider team.
Technical expertise: You have knowledge of Perl and Linux shell scripting, Red Hat and Windows server administration and an understanding of Active Directory, NTFS ACLs, and POSIX file permissions. Strong familiarity with Evolphin Zoom, Adobe products, SGL, Quantum, and Telestream Vantage preferred. Understanding of IP networking and with PC & Mac software and hardware required.
