Time Inc. Video seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Technical Director to join our New York operations team creating daily live and VOD content for all Time Inc. properties. This person will work directly with the Time Inc. Studios Creative Director, Studio Manager, showrunners and show directors in support of live and live to tape shows and pre-tapes at our lower Manhattan facility. This person will help guide video production as new ideas are brought into the studio, and be seen as a leader in the daily operation of the studios.
Work with Producers on the look and feel of studio content.
Operate a Ross Carbonite Black switcher for several live and live-to-tape multi-camera shows per day.
Set up cameras, audio and video links for outside broadcasts.
Maintain and troubleshoot studio and control room equipment, and install new equipment with the engineering teams.
Work with Directors and Creative Director to best facilitate the execution of each show’s vision and needs.
Assist in maintaining a cohesive look, feel, and polish for all Time Inc. video series and have a collaborative relationship with our internal teams.
Stay up to date on industry hardware and software.
Be able to climb a ladder and lift 50 pounds.
Experience. 5+ years working as a Technical Director or Director for a digital, TV or social network. You excel in fast paced environments and have a solid understanding of video workflows.
Flexibility. You are a team player who is happy to go wherever you are needed, and can lead new video initiatives with the creative director that results in best-in-class video content.
Preparedness. You have a near-expert level knowledge of studio production and lighting, cameras, and monitoring technology and will jump in to help troubleshoot or solve issues as they happen.
Communication Skills. You have excellent verbal skills and are extremely detail oriented.
