The Time Inc. Law Department in NYC is seeking a lawyer to advise on, and draft and negotiate contracts with respect to, a broad range of marketing and advertising issues that arise in the context of the company’s business. Areas include direct marketing via all forms of online, offline and social channels, charity tie-ins, contests and sweepstakes, endorsements, and advertising, including native advertising.
Advise in-house clients in Marketing, Edit and Ad Sales on activities relating to existing products and initiatives as well as assist in the design and launch of new products and initiatives.
Advise colleagues in the Time Inc. Law Department on marketing/advertising issues that arise in their activities.
Draft and negotiate marketing/advertising contracts, including with third party marketing and advertising partners.
Advise and counsel management on legal and business risks associated with the business.
Report to the senior Marketing lawyer.
Experienced/ Knowledgeable: Have a strong educational background, as well as top law firm and/or regulatory experience. In-house experience is a plus. You have at least 4 years of experience in the marketing/advertising field. Member of the New York State bar.
Communicative: You possess excellent judgment and the ability to interact successfully with attorneys, in-house client groups, senior management and outside parties. Your crystal clear approach to communication is immediately recognized, whether you’re crafting legal solutions to marketing/advertising issues, hosting a meeting, leading a negotiation or sending a simple email.
