The FanSided team develops on and maintains an extensive network of websites, APIs, and iOS and Android apps. The Senior Web Developer must be able to prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a strong track record of delivery.
You will be responsible for:
Engineering, building and maintaining effective tools for writers and readers, and our network of websites that reach millions of visitors.
Creating elegant UI experiences that are backwards compatible and accessible, based on Photoshop designs from the team's designers.
Creating front-end and back-end code that’s extensible and reusable, tested for optimized performance both on the server and in the browser.
Guiding team education, promoting and encouraging teamwork, and coaching others to think and solve problems creatively.
Providing support to other developers and end users, rapidly fixing bugs and solving problems.
Working directly with them Product team and other developers on solutions and agree on timelines for your projects.
Work on custom WordPress themes and plugins, APIs, mobile apps, dynamic email newsletters and more
Develop with multiple languages including but not limited to: PHP, JS, SQL, CSS, SASS, HTML5, and technologies such as Vagrant, Docker, Webpack, Yarn
Work in our North Scottsdale office on a flexible but agreed upon schedule, which includes weekly remote-work days
4+ years experience in professional web development
3+ years experience coding, testing and documenting WordPress themes and/or plugins
2+ years experience architecting WordPress products and storing data at scale
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines
