The Recipe Developer/Tester creates and tests recipes for multiple Time Inc. brands and platforms and reports directly to the Test Kitchen Director.
Pitch, develop, and test recipes across Time Inc. brands and advertising partners. Deliver fully annotated recipes in Time Inc. recipe style, content deliverables, nutritional analysis when needed, and digital photos for each project.
Contribute to digital and video-first brands, including recipe ideation, development, food styling and on camera work.
Stay abreast of current food and cooking trends, from competitive food publications to social media, to ensure that brand recipes meet the highest possible standards.
Work with Test Kitchen Coordinator and fellow Developer/Testers to be a steward of the facilities.
Consult as needed on photo shoots to ensure that the food and recipes are being executed as intended.
Present cooking demonstrations or consultations at media events when necessary.
Experienced: You have a B.S. or B.A. and a culinary degree or extensive professional cooking experience. You are a recipe expert: Proficient in writing according to style and able to troubleshoot a recipe just by reading it. You have a strong knowledge of food, including a range of cuisines and techniques. You have social media savvy and are excited about digital content trends.
Creative: You have an editorial sensibility and can identify service content within recipes. You understand how to pitch balanced, on-brand recipe line-ups for food columns and features. You care about the way food looks and tastes— you know how to make food look great on the plate and can snap a fantastic ipad photo of your creation.
