The deputy digital editor at Food & Wine oversees daily editorial content online, acting as lead on daily lineups, seasonal, and long-lead features. The deputy digital editor is responsible for developing, assigning, editing, and publishing content in line with both brand identity and strategic business goals. The role leads a team of editors and freelance writers and reports to the digital director.
— Assign, edit, and publish a high-volume daily cadence of wine, seasonal, and SEO content
— Manage the seasonal digital editorial calendar and daily lineups
— Assign and edit special editorial projects and packages on an as-needed basis
— At least five years of digital food editorial experience at a national media brand
— Strong writing and line-editing skills, with experience pitching and assigning
— A strong sense of self-direction and the ability to execute content without a significant amount of hand-holding, and the ability to multi-task and manage both long-term and tight deadlines
— A strong understanding of the digital media landscape, the digital editorial business model, and a proactive, thoughtful, and creative approach to ideation and content creation
